The English Cocker Spaniel is the smallest in the gundog group yet he is able to flush out and retrieve game birds from undergrowth. A gentle popular pet he is also called the Merry Cocker because of his energetic, playful, eager to please nature and his unique tail wagging which includes his entire hindquarters. They are very smart, and easily trained for hunting, agility, and obedience. They are small enough to be great house dogs, and are fun, lively dogs to own. AKC English Cocker Spaniel, "Ginger Ale Bree", AKA "Ginger" is an Orange and White Female.
Ginger is a wonderful agility dog, and shows in 4-H. She also shows in obedience. She knows tons of tricks, including jumping into arms, twirling on her back legs, fetching, and many others. She is a very fun dog!
Ayla & Ginger are doing very well in 4-H this year! Ginger excells at agility, and is always asked to perform to promote the 4-H dog program. Ginger & Ayla will also likely begin to show in AKC agility shows, and earn points! Ginger will be showing at the SD State Fair again this year.
Ginger is field bred. Ginger has her AKC Good Citizen Award!
Ginger is now spayed due to c-section deliveries. She will not have anymore puppies, but will continue her 4-H shows, and just being a loving housedog as she always was ;o)

About Mini English Cocker Spaniels
Mini English Cockers are mostly out of purebred English Cockers, with a little bit of American Cocker, and a little bit of Doxi added, in order to bring down size, and to soften some of the hunting instinct, making them better as house dogs. They are still very smart, easy to train, happy, toy crazy, gentle dogs! However, without the strong hunting instinct, they do not tend to "run off" to go hunting, like the Field breds love to do! They are also a lot smaller, maturing about half the weight of normal English Cockers. The same look and personality, but much smaller, and a stay at home pet! Our Mini English Cockers come with a pedigree.

About Colonial Cocker Spaniels
Why Colonials?
We have bred both, American & English Cocker Spaniels for many years. We find that English Cocker Spaniels are very smart & easy to train! Super gentle, loving, athletic dogs! However, they are strongly hunting dogs, and do have a tendancy to run.
American Cockers are super sweet, loving dogs! Cute! However, thay may be difficult to train, and some are even known to piddle, or even be nippy. They also require frequent haircuts.
Both breeds may have many health problems.
We find that Colonials are the best of both worlds! Much healthier, easy to train, sweet, gentle, loving dogs, that do not run off, and do not need many haircuts.
