About English Cocker Spaniels
The English Cocker Spaniel is the smallest in the gundog group yet he is able to flush out and retrieve game birds from undergrowth. A gentle popular pet he is also called the Merry Cocker because of his energetic, playful, eager to please nature and his unique tail wagging which includes his entire hindquarters. They are very smart, and easily trained for hunting, agility, and obedience. They are small enough to be great house dogs, and are fun, lively dogs to own
About Our English Cockers.
Our English Cocker Spaniels are Field Bred, with many champion bloodlines. They do make excellant hunting dogs, on land or in water, even pulling in geese all day long. However, they also make super house pets, and wonderful agility dogs. They are very smart, happy, toy crazy, easy to train, and very friendly!
About Our Mini English Cockers.
Our Mini English Cockers are our very special, mini version, that are pefect house sized, and do not have the "hunting dog" tendancy to run, like the Field Bred English Cockers tend to want to do. Though they do still retain the strong hunting instinct, the instinct to stay very close to their family is stronger. They are an extremily smart, fun, lively dog! Tails are docked, the same as the Standard size English Cocker Spaniel. To mature around 20 pounds, and about 11 to 12 inches tall.

Why Colonials?
We have bred both, American & English Cocker Spaniels for many years. We find that English Cocker Spaniels are very smart & easy to train! Super gentle, loving, athletic dogs! However, they are strongly hunting dogs, and do have a tendancy to run.
American Cockers are super sweet, loving dogs! Cute! However, thay may be difficult to train, and some are even known to piddle, or even by nippy. They also require frequent haircuts.
Both breeds may have many health problems, mostly due to inbreeding.
We find that Colonials are the best of both worlds! Much healthier, easy to train, sweet, gentle, loving dogs, that do not run off, and do not need many haircuts.
