Comfort Retriever
A Comfort Retriever highly resembles a Golden Retriever, but are a lot smaller. Usually weighing around 35 to 45 pounds, and about 16 to 17 inches tall. They are usually a cross between a Golden Retriever, and a Cocker Spaniel. This cross has been around for a very long time, and have proven themselves to make an excellant dog, in a much smaller size, as not to overwhelm children. Very fun, playful, easy to train loving dogs!
Variations
A Comfort Retriever is always at least half Golden Retriever. Though, there are some variations. Some breeders use straighter haired Goldendoodles when breeding their Comfort Retrievers. English Cocker Spaniels may also be used. Though, they are always at least 50% Golden Retriever, other breeds may be one or more of the following breeds: American Cocker Spaniel, English Cocker Spaniel, Cavalier Spaniel, or Poodle. Never more then 25% Poodle. Other Spaniel breeds may occaisionally also be used?
About Our Comfort Retrievers
We use Golden Retriever moms, and American Cocker Spaniel dads, so that the puppies are not too big for the mom, as they could be if the Cocker Spaniel was the mom? Our Golden Retrievers are smaller, with excellant, very gentle temperments. Our main Comfort Retriever sire is Charlie, for his coloring, and excellant pedigree! Charlie was carefully choosen just to sire Comfort Retrievers. Charlie is our Duke's grandson. Duke may also be used from time to time.
We will also be using our English Cockers, straighter coated Goldendoodles, and our own Comfort Retrievers while continuing to develope this new breed! We are thriving to perfect them, into a perfect family dog! Being super smart & easy to train, very fun, (fetch, love water, playful), but also calm & cuddly, extremily gentle, and lower shedding, in a perfect medium size! Their coat is straight to wavy, never real curly. Colors will also vary! Though they will mostly be the typical "Golden" colors, we will also have chocolates, blacks, tan markings, Sables, and partis available. We always include a pedigree with our puppies!
We at Dakota Winds are the largest breeders of Comfort Retrievers. We usually have puppies available, and/or on the way. We also are the largest and founders of breeding a variety of colors! Our Comfort Retrievers are always 50% Golden Retriever, no more, or no less.

However, she is in fact one of our smaller Comforts. Smaller then Amber, Mindy, and many others. Even her puppies are much smaller then Amber & Mindy's puppies.
